CERTIFICATE AND SEWING MACHINE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY
Maharashtra Industries Development Institute (MiDi) has conducted a survey for quick assessment of Employable skills in the project area of Indian Railway, in Mankhurd and Govandi of Mumbai.
This was a part of the Indian Railway initiative under its CSR activities, and an outcome of the discussions between Indian Railway and MiDi officials.
When we discuss, the various issues that needed to be addressed for the development of people in an area, one of the prime needs and concerns was Income generation and lifestyle development of people.
As we know, they all migrated from different places and they were offered a reasonably good shelter, and house in this locality, they are happy but at the same, they are concerned about earning as they lost
their livelihood-income source because of Migration. Now they have to hunt for new ways.At the new place, they have to opt for a new vocation and adopt a new work environment and accept job opportunities as available.
While opting for new employment, they were finding it difficult to cope with the new set of skills required. It was time, they were not able to grab new employment opportunities. Considering this fact, we thought of
providing vocational skill development training as a CSR activity of Indian Railway.
MiDi had done a workshop with Indian Railways,
